The development of the Karawang Regency Smart City Master Plan was carried out through a series of activities and involved all local government organisations. These activities included a Kick-off Meeting, an explanation of the survey form, technical guidance (Bimtek), and a final presentation on the Smart City Master Plan.

All stages of the programme were conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person meetings. The Technical Guidance and Final Presentation sessions were held in person on the 2nd floor of the Rubaya Building, Bapperida, Karawang Regency, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

An assessment of the region’s current conditions was carried out, along with an analysis of Smart City readiness, mapping of strategic development issues, and the formulation of a Smart City vision, strategy, programmes, and action plans aligned with the needs and characteristics of Karawang Regency. The approach employed integrated the six dimensions of a Smart City: Smart Governance, Smart Branding, Smart Economy, Smart Living, Smart Society, and Smart Environment. (FGe/geo.ugm.ac.id)
