Support for the Development of the Karawang Regency Smart City Master Plan

The collaboration on the development of the Smart City Master Plan for Karawang Regency for 2026 is led by Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T., a Professor at the Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), who has experience in assisting local authorities with the development of Smart City plans. In its implementation, the drafting team was supported by a number of experts from UGM, namely Pradiptya Setyahadi, S.Kom., M.Sc., Anita Putri Anggraini, S.Si., M.Sc. and Tria Sofie, S.Si., M.Sc., and collaborated with representatives from Lambung Mangkurat University in Banjarmasin, Amandita Ainur Rohmah, S.Si., M.Sc. Faculty of Geography UGM Expands Collaboration in the Field of Geo-AI with PT Abhimantra Sistem Solusindo

The Faculty of Geography at UGM remains open to research and collaboration in the field of geospatial technology development, such as systems based on Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (Geo-AI). This marks the start of a collaboration between the IT consultancy firm PT Abhimantra Sistem Solusindo and the Faculty of Geography at UGM. PT Abhimantra Sistem Solusindo held exploratory talks regarding collaboration at the Faculty of Geography, UGM, on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. The meeting focused on plans to establish collaboration in the field of geospatial technology, particularly relating to data processing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the application of Remote Sensing. Representing the Faculty of Geography at UGM, Dr Sanjiwana Arjasakusuma, S.Si., M.Si. and Dr Nur Mohammad Farda, S.Si., M.Cs. were present and welcomed this initiative for collaboration. Plan to Strengthen the Coastal and Marine Management System by the Directorate of Maritime Services, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, through the Directorate of Maritime Services, continues to strengthen its efforts to monitor and manage coastal and marine areas. To implement this, the Directorate of Maritime Services is continuing its collaboration with the Faculty of Geography at UGM. This continued collaboration began with coordination and discussions on the development of a monitoring information system for land reclamation projects and the identification of structures and installations at sea using the Google Earth Engine (GEE) application between representatives from the Directorate of Maritime Services and the Faculty of Geography at UGM. The meeting took place in Room E503 of the Faculty of Geography at UGM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Industry-Academia Collaboration: UGM’s Faculty of Geography Establishes a Partnership with PT Shoenary Javanesia Inc

PT Shoenary Javanesia Inc (SJI) is part of the KMK Group. The Faculty of Geography at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and PT SJI have established a partnership regarding spatial studies, the demarcation of river boundaries, and land evaluation within the PT Shoenary Javanesia Inc area in Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province. This initiative is chaired by Prof. Drs. Projo Danoedoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. Discussions regarding the work and coordination took place on Friday, 24 April 2026 at the Faculty of Geography, UGM. Representatives from PT SJI were Alfan Nahareko and Gadira Ariasa, alongside representatives from the central management of the KMK Group. From the Faculty of Geography, the meeting was attended by Dr Nur Mohammad Farda, S.Si., M.Sc., from the Domestic Cooperation Unit, as well as experts and assistants involved in this collaboration. read more
